Prenatal Appointments
Between 10 and 12 weeks of pregnancy we will see a client for the first prenatal appointment. This initial prenatal appointment usually takes the full hour.
Then, we will have the client come in every 4 weeks until 28 weeks. At which point, appointments are every 2 weeks until 36 weeks. The 36-week appointment will be a home visit. At this appointment we will be getting familiar with the route to the home and the birth space. It is important that the husband attends this appointment. We will chat with him that day about what to expect during labor, when to call us, how to prepare the home for birth, and what support during labor will look like.
After which, we will see the client every week until birth.
Herbal Tea
The pregnancy tea we provide is a mix of flowers and herbs that Midwife Moriah actually blends herself. There are over a dozen different flowers and herbs in the tea. Every ingredient is chosen for the benefits they possess for overall wellness in pregnancy.
The goal is to get the tea in the system regularly to get all the beautiful nutrients and benefits that it has to offer. This is also one more step in preparing the body for labor and birth in a trusted, tried, and true way that has been around for centuries. The beauty and blessing of what is God given.
Labor & Birth
We attend the labor and birth and every client and family has different needs with time and hands on or in person care. We will discuss when to contact the midwives for labor and when we will want to be getting to the home during labor. We stay in the immediate postpartum on average between 3 and 4 hours, depending on the needs in this time. Every birth and postpartum is unique to the family we are serving in that moment.
